A student whose semester grade-point average falls below a 2.0 and the cumulative GPA is less than 2.5 will be placed on academic probation (meaning, all semesters are calculated together to equal the cumulative GPA).  In addition, all classes taken during the summer sessions are considered as one semester term to determine academic probation.

CONDITIONS:

• A student on probation is required to complete the online Academic Choice Seminar.

• Two semesters of consecutive probation places a student on suspension.

REMOVAL:

• A student is removed from academic probation when a 2.0 grade-point average or better is earned on all work completed at Amarillo College during the semester that the student is on probation.
