Common Course Number comparison for Texas Universities

It's important to remember that public universities in Texas typically accept only up to 66 hours of transfer credit from a community college. Earning more than 66 hours of credit at the community college may result in the student having to repeat required courses at the university.

NOTICE: All public universities in Texas use a common application for admission, located at www.ApplyTexas.org

TIPS:

  • Students should work closely with their transfer institution to determine the best time to transfer.
  • If you are close to an Associate's Degree, ask the transfer advisor about a 'reverse transfer' option.
  • You may be eligible for a $1,000 tuition rebate if you complete your bachelor's degree with as few courses outside the degree plan as possible. Find out if you qualify now by clicking this link.
