Peace Officers in the State of Texas are required to complete 80 hours of In-Service Training every 4 years. Each officer MUST complete TCLEOSE #3232, Special Investigative Topics, TCLEOSE #3939, Cultural Diversity and one of the following: TCLEOSE #3840 CIT Train the Trainer; TCLEOSE #3841 Crisis Intervention Training; TCLEOSE #3842 Basic Peace Officer CIT Component or TCLEOSE #4001 Mental Health Peace Officer during the 4 year period. The remaining hours of in-service can be determined by the officer or his/her agency. Criminal Justice Programs holds classes in Amarillo and throughout the Panhandle to serve the needs of all area law enforcement agencies and officers.
