Campus Tour Policies
- Two weeks notice is recommended for any campus tour.
- Tours are best when classes are in session (Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.), however no campus tours will be given during final exam weeks.
- Group tours require one sponsor for every 10 students.
- Group tours are given to high school age students and above. Younger students may be interested in the Amarillo Museum of Art, the Natural History Museum, or KACV tours.
- Guests are expected to adhere to Amarillo College policies.
Campus Tour Tips
- Invite your parents. We’d love to meet them, too.
- Develop a list of questions and be sure to ask them. Answering questions is your tour guide's favorite job.
- Allow enough time to get the “feel” of the campus. After the “official” tour, consider spending some time on your own walking around and seeing the sites.
- Remember that parking can sometimes be a challenge. You may want to arrive early to find the right spot.
- Pick up an Application for Admission form and a campus map.
- Don’t hesitate to discuss finances. Consider making an appointment with the financial aid office.
- Pay close attention to the library and computer labs. Notice their location, size, scope, and availability to students.
- Try to visit a typical class you may take. For example, if you are interested in biology, tour the lab. Or better yet, make an appointment to meet a faculty member.
- College life is more than the classroom. Check out the cafeteria, student lounges, and recreation areas.
- Talk to the students you see. They’ll be your classmates and friends. Ask them questions about what Amarillo College is “really like.”
- Make notes of your reactions to the college. It will help you remember what you liked about Amarillo College.
- If you decide to attend Amarillo College, fill out your application for admission, financial aid, and scholarships early.
