Fall

Headcount for Division, Major, & Noncredit Areas - Table 1A

Table 1A is an historical record of student headcount during the fall semester in specific majors. Continuing Education data is an unduplicated count of all students who did not withdraw prior to the beginning of class. Credit data is an unduplicated count of all semester credit hour students who received grades during the indicated fall semester. If specific students were enrolled in both credit and continuing education classes during the same period, the count is shown in the "credit" total. Two brief tabulations at the end of the table show both the duplicated continuing education enrollment, and the unduplicated count of all contiuing education students, whether or not they also enrolled in credit classes.

FTE (12 or more hours attempted = 1 FTE), PT/FT Headcount by Division & Major - Table 1B

Table 1B is an historical record of semester credit hour student headcount during the fall semester in specific majors by full- or part-time status. Full-time students are enrolled in 12 or more semester hours. The data shows an unduplicated count of all students who received grades during the indicated fall semester.

FTE (12 or more hours attempted = 1 FTE), PT/FT Headcount by Division & Major Excluding Dual Credit - Table 1Bx

Table 1Bx is identical to Table 1B except it excludes Dual Credit Students.

Day and Night Headcount Enrollment by Division & Major - Table 1C

Table 1C is an historical record of semester credit hour student headcount during the fall semester in specific majors by day or night attendance. The night portion includes students who attend both day and night classes during the same semester. The data shows an unduplicated count of all students who received grades during the indicated fall semester. This accounts for the decline in the number of sections shown from that point in time.

Fall Credit Student Demographic Information - Table 1D

Table 1D are an historical record of a number of demographic factors about all semester credit hour students. The data shows an unduplicated count of all students who received grades during the indicated fall semester. These tables show 5 year segments.

Fall Credit Student Demographic Information Excluding Dual Credit - Table 1Dx

Table 1Dx is identical to Table 1D except it does not include Dual Credit students.

Fall Full Time Equivalant (FTE) Students (Total Hours / 12) for Division & Major - Table 1E12

Table 1E12 is a historical record of the number of full-time equivalent (FTE) students who received grades during the indicated fall semester. The number of full-time equivalent students represents a total of the semester-hour loads of all full-time and part-time students enrolled in a specific curriculum divided by 12. This definition (12 hours = 1 full-time student) differs from that used in Table 1B, which considers all students enrolled in 12 or more hours as "full-time". AC requires approximately 60 hours to earn an associate degree. A student who completes 12 hours satisfactorily in the appropriate course work will graduate in two years without having to take an overload or attend extra semesters. This is the rationale for using 12 hours as full-time equivalent. All semester credit hour students who received grades during the indicated fall semester are included in this table. No students in ATC fall 1995 quarter hour classes are included in this table.

Fall Full Time Equivalant (FTE) Students (Total Hours / 15) for Division & Major - Table 1E15

Table 1E15 is a historical record of the number of full-time equivalent (FTE) students who received grades during the indicated fall semester. The number of full-time equivalent students represents a total of the semester-hour loads of all full-time and part-time students enrolled in a specific curriculum divided by 15. This definition (15 hours = 1 full-time student) differs from that used in Table 1B, which considers all students enrolled in 12 or more hours as "full-time". AC requires approximately 60 hours to earn an associate degree. A student who completes 15 hours satisfactorily in the appropriate course work will graduate in two years without having to take an overload or attend extra semesters. This is the rationale for using 15 hours as full-time equivalent. All semester credit hour students who received grades during the indicated fall semester are included in this table.

Technical Headcount, THECB CIP Programs - Table 1F

Table 1F is an historical record of technical ("Perkins") semester credit hour student headcount during the fall semester in specific majors in each Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) program at Amarillo College. The program definitions are based on the federal Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) table. The data shows an unduplicated count of all technical students who received grades during the indicated fall semester. The THECB program designation is based on the latest year in the table.

Student Median Age at Beginning of Fall Term by Division & Major - Table 1H

Table 1H is an historical record of new student headcount during the fall semester in specific majors. The data is based on an unduplicated count of new semester credit hour students who received grades during the indicated fall semester. "New" students include both first-time in college students (FTIC) and first-time transfers to Amarillo College.

First Time in College (FTIC) Fall Credit Student Demographic Information - Table 1I

Table 1I is an historical record of a number of demographic factors about all first-time in college (FTIC) semester credit hour students. The data shows an unduplicated count of all FTIC students who received grades during the indicated fall semester. No students in ATC fall 1995 quarter hour classes are included in these tables. Fall first-time students, in these tables, include only students who actually began their college work during the fall semester. These tables show 5 year segments.

First Time in College (FTIC) Fall Credit Student Demographic Information Excluding Dual Credit - Table 1Ix

Table 1Ix is identical to Table 1I except it does not include Dual Credit Students.

First Time in College (FTIC) Student Median Age at Beginning of Fall Term by Division & Major - Table 1J

Table 1J is an historical record of the median age of first-time in college (FTIC) students enrolled in semester credit hour classes during the fall semester by major and division. The data is based on an unduplicated count of all FTIC students who received grades during the indicated fall semester. No students in ATC fall 1995 quarter hour classes are included in this table. Use caution when comparing this information to that from other colleges. Age averages elsewhere may be based on the mean rather than the median age. Fall first-time students, in this table, include only students who actually began their college work during the fall semester.

Ethnic & Gender Distribution by Division & Major - Table 2A

Table 2A shows the number of students by ethnicity and gender enrolled in specific majors for the most recently completed fall semester. These figures represent an unduplicated count of all students who received grades during the indicated fall semester. Tables from previous years are available in the Institutional Research office.
