Welcome to the Hereford Campus
A Community College in Your Backyard!
That's Amarillo College Hereford Campus.
241 Ave. H
(806) 457-4400

Amarillo College has had a presence in the Hereford Community for almost 30 years. Since the early 1970's, Amarillo College has devoted and committed excellent programs to enhance and contribute to the educational needs of the community. At present, Amarillo College conducts on-site classes using interactive television and local part-time instructors at the local high school. In 2004, a community-wide vote on allowing Amarillo College to establish a physical campus in Hereford was passed with a 90 percent approval rate. Never in the history of higher education has this happened where the community has high support for an institution. Plans for this physical location were to include occupying the old Shirley Elementary School located on 239 Avenue H. Since the last class day at Shirley School in 1999, the doors will re-open with a new refurbished, state-of-art facility for the new Amarillo College Campus. The first day of classes at the new Amarillo College Hereford Campus commenced on August 29, 2005.
