- Am I liable for damages or theft of an A.C. owned laptop if I take it off campus?
A: Employee liability for new laptops will be the same as with any other piece of AC equipment taken off campus. HOWEVER, each new Dell laptop purchased by AC will include Dell's Accidental Damage coverage. For incidents that are not covered (e.g., fire, theft, normal wear), an employee's renters or homeowners insurance should cover the laptop. If an employee does not have these types of insurance, they would then be financially liability to replace the AC laptop. To learn what the Dell Accidental Damage agreement covers click here.
