Testing Specialist Hours:
          Monday and Wednesday   5:30 pm - 8:00 pm
          Tuesday and Thursday      9:30 am - 1:30 pm

Testing Specialist administers:
          -Accuplacer tests
          -Instructor exams as requested by an instructor
          -Orientation for GED testing

During times when the Testing Center is not staffed, Learning Center staff can usually administer instructor tests for students.  Learning Center hours are 9:00 am - 8:00 pm Monday - Thursday.

All testing must be started before 6:00 pm to insure completion by 8:00 pm unless approval has been obtained from the Testing Specialist or Learning Center staff.

 

Group Accuplacer

Tuesday, October 13 from 9:30am - 11:30am
Monday, November 2 from 3:30pm - 6:00pm
Tuesday, November 10 from 9:30am - 11:30am
Thursday, December 3 from 9:30am - 11:30am
Monday, December 7 from 3:30pm - 6:00pm

You can start an Accuplacer anytime between the times specified.

Individual appointments can be scheduled by calling the Testing Specialist at 806-934-7256.

Testing Fees:

          Math - $10.00
          Reading - $10.00
          Writing - $15.00
          Any combination of 2 or 3 tests - $20.00

 

GED Orientation

If you have not previously attended orientation for the GED testing, you must attend an orientation session.  You WILL NOT be able to test for the GED without attending orientation.

Orientation for GED Testing:
          Monday, October 12, 2009 @ 6:00 pm
          Thursday, October 15, 2009 @ 10:00 am

          Please call Earlene Laminack at 806-934-7256 to register.  If it is not possible for you to
          attend orientation on either of these dates, call to see if a make-up date can be arranged.

Bring to Orientation:
          Money for testing fee ($75.00)
          Picture Identification (driver's license, passport, military ID, etc.)
          Social Security Card

 

 GED Testing

Date:  October 21, 2009
           November 18, 2009

Requirements to complete GED Testing:

1.  If you are 16 years old, you must be court-ordered, have a completed parental permission form (unless you are an emancipated minor), and have a completed school withdrawal form.

2.  If you are 17 years old, you must have a completed parental permission form and a completed school withdrawal form.

3.  Anyone 18 years old or older is permitted to take the GED test.

4.  You must provide a copy of an official form of picture identification and copy of your social security card (if you have one) to Amarillo College Learning Center staff prior to the GED testing date.

5.  You must attend orientation for the GED test prior to the GED testing date.

6.  On the day of the GED testing, you must bring a valid Texas ID and your social security card.

7.  The cost of GED testing is $75.00 for all tests or $15.00 for each individual test of the five tests comprising the official GED test.
