Miracle in the Andes is written by one of the heroes of the story.  Nando Parrado tells the saga of an Uruguayan rugby team that crashes in the high Andes on a flight to Chile for a match.  There are 45 persons on board and 16 survive.  They are stranded about 12000 feet on a glacier and surrounded by snow capped mountains which are part of the second highest range in the world.This nightmare lasts for 72 days and nights.  They are lightly clothed and have only the broken fuselage for shelter.
