Amarillo College and The University of Texas at Brownsville, Texas Southmost College have entered into an articulation agreement in which UTB/TSC will offer a Bachelor of Applied Technology and Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science.
The Bachelor of Applied Technology BAT degree is an optional University degree for students who have completed the requirements for or who have an Associate of Applied Science degree at an Accredited school. The BAT builds on an occupational/technical program which serves as the major. A.A.S.degrees usually consist of an element of occupational or technical fields that are not transferable into conventional academic baccalaureate degrees and an element (15 hours or more) of lower level general education requirements that can be applied to the core.
The BAT has four tracks
- Workforce Leadership/Supervision
- Technology Application
- Computer Information System Technology
- Health Services TEchnology
The Bachelor of Applies Arts and Sciences (BASS) degree is an optional University degree for students who have completed an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree at an acredited school.
The BAAS has two tracks
- Interdisciplinary
- Applied Business Technologies
In reality, an A.A.S. graduate could transfer up to 80 hours toUTB/TSC, taking these classes from Amarillo College, then complete the rest of the degree on-line.
