Central Receiving is located one block off Interstate 40 at 2011 South Washington Street. It takes delivery of incoming freight, inspects for damage, and delivers most materials within 6 hours of receipt. The facility is equipped with a receiving dock for unloading tractor trailers. Central Receiving is equipped with a forklift, a pallet jack, dollies, carts and other materials handling equipment. All receiving personnel are forklift certified in accordance with campus policy. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to Noon for Receiving and 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. for campus deliveries. Anyone scheduling tractor trailer deliveries are encouraged to call ahead to notify dock personnel. Because the office is not staffed after 12:00 p.m., special arrangements, in advance, are required to guarantee unloading. Central Receiving processes freight on a flow through basis. Due to the volume of inbound/outbound freight, we do not have the physical space necessary to provide long term storage.
