Environmental scanning provided the discovery phase for AC's Strategic Plan. The scan gave us information on the best fit between AC's environment and its future. Beginning January 2004 with a college-wide process known as "What Matters Most @ AC" and continuing with focus groups through March 2005, the planning process included virtually all faculty, staff, and administration, as well as students and community leaders. The scan reviewed current higher education, political, social, and community landscapes gleaned from various sources including interviews and research reports.
