Brian Lewis Masterclass Thursday at 5 PM
Thursday, May 13 at 5:00 PM - come SIT ON STAGE and watch the master class with Amarillo Symphony guest artist, Brian Lewis at the Globe News Center! I hope we'll have a good group of Suzuki peers supporting our student performers, getting some great playing tips from a true master of string playing, and seeing what the hall looks like from "up there"!
The master class will be over at 6 PM, after which you can grab a bite to eat downtown and come back to the Globe News Center for the open rehearsal of the Amarillo Symphony at 7:30 PM (sorry, you have to sit back in the audience area for this part!). This symphony concert features a couple of real seat-shakers with one of my personal favorites, Finlandia by Sibelius, and "The Organ Symphony" by Saint-Saens. Brian Lewis will perform the Barber Violin Concerto as well. The symphonic works will begin the rehearsal -- stay for as much as you like; anything you hear is sure to be a treat!
