Description
Basics of standard and heavy duty steering and suspension systems including fundamentals, related tools and equipment, basic services and individual system components. Emphasis on diagnostics and minor and major services on chassis, front suspension and manual power steering systems.

Student Performance and Learning Outcomes
  1. Perform an undercar inspection.
  2. Perform basic two wheel alignment.
  3. Perform basic four wheel alignment.
  4. Check wheel bearings.
  5. Balance tires.
  6. Replace shock absorbers, MacPherson struts
  7. Replace springs and steering spindles.

Course Objectives

The student will identify and replace or repair proper components on standard and heavy duty suspension systems according to industry standards. The student will identify and repair or replace various types of steering components of the modern vehicle using industry standards.
