Rules for Articulated Credit

The conditions of the Articulation Agreement were formulated through meetings with representatives from both institutions based on an agreement of evaluation criteria, course contents, and exit competencies. Under the articulation agreement, the following conditions of articulation are hereby set forth:

The student must graduate from high school, must meet all admissions requirements, and be officially enrolled in order to be unconditionally eligible for program continuation or credit via articulation.

The student must have an official high school transcript on file with the receiving entity’s Records Office.

The student must initiate an official college education plan with appropriate point-of-entry counselor prior to enrollment at the college.

The student must enroll and request credits within 28 months after high school graduation in order to receive articulation credit. Credit beyond the 28-month limit may be granted through petition to the appropriate college official.

The student must take the TASP test prior to enrollment in the post secondary institution if he/she has taken nine or more college credit hours.

The student must meet all conditions for articulated credit in the specific curriculum documents which cover the requested courses.

An Articulation Agreement with a 6-year curriculum plan and competency profiles will be on file with the College, LEA, and the Top of Texas Tech Prep Consortium.

The student must have successfully completed specified high school course(s) and received a grade of 80 or above with high school teacher approval in order for articulated credit to be awarded at the post secondary level.

The student must successfully complete at least 6-12 hours of college degree courses with one course being in their declared Tech Prep major prior to the awarding of any Tech Prep articulated credit to the student's official record.
