The AC Police Department wants everyone to stay safe and well during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Just Breathe

Take a deep breath in. Now let it out. You may notice a difference in how you feel already. Deep breathing is a powerful tool to ease stress and make you feel less anxious. Some simple breathing exercises can make a big difference if you make them part of your regular routine.

  1. Sit comfortably in a chair
  2. Breathe in through your nose. As you breathe in, count to five.
  3. Breathe out through your nose while you count to five.
  4. Repeat several times.

Just five deep breaths can help relax and energize you. Repeat as needed throughout the day.

Remember every day is a gift.

Stay Safe Online

During this season when many more people are online and using online meeting platforms like Zoom and Google Meet, here are some steps you can take to protect yourself and your computer while being productive at home:

  1. For video meetings, set a unique password or PIN for your group to access the online meeting.
  2. Never forward or share the password or meeting link to people you do not know or those outside AC.
  3. Be careful about sharing sensitive information through this kind of platform.
  4. Disable features (when possible) that you don't need (chat, file sharing, etc.)
  5. Record the meeting only if necessary.
  6. Specify a team member to monitor attendees.
  7. Know the policies for sharing student or employee information.
