This implicit/explicit bias training is designed to expose participants to their unconscious and conscious biases, provide tools to assist in adjusting automatic patterns of thinking, and ultimately to eliminate any possible discriminatory behaviors. One of the main goals of the workshop is to engage staff in understanding and enhancing the college’s strategy for equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Sylvia Willie Burgess is a Senior Partner with One Step at a Time Consulting Services, where her focus is on leadership, equity, diversity and inclusion, and community engagement. Dr. Burgess is a dynamic facilitator of team training and professional development for team building through classroom and simulation activities, strategy, and self-improvement subject matters. She has over 18 years of experience in teaching, facilitation, development, and curriculum design in leadership development, diversity and cultural competency, community engagement, team building, and conflict resolution.
