Kyle Schlesinger, poet and founder of Cuneiform Press, a nonprofit press specializing in poetry, typography and handcrafted books, will give a Guest Artist Talk on Thursday, April 27 at Amarillo College.

Guest Artist Kyle SchlesingerSchlesinger’s presentation, which is free and open to the public, will be at 6 p.m. in Russell Hall, room 131, on the Washington Street Campus.

The poet and popular lecturer on the topic of typography is visiting the College at the invitation of the AC Art Collective.

In his Guest Artist Talk, Schlesinger will discuss the relationship between words and images in some of the artists’ books he has produced at his Austin-based Cuneiform Press, which specializes in publishing poetry, artists’ books, and nonfiction with an emphasis on enriching the humanities.

Schlesinger is the author of Parts of Speech (Chax Press, 2014), The Pink (Kenning Editions, 2008), Hello Helicopter (BlazeVOX, 2007), and co-editor of Mimeo Mimeo.

A native of Providence, Rhode Island, he earned a Ph.D. in English with a concentration in poetics from State University of New York at Buffalo.
