Dozens of adult learners recently completed the requirements for GED certification through the Adult Education Literacy program at Amarillo College, and a graduation ceremony will be held in their honor.

About 50 recent program graduates will receive their General Education Development certificates at a cap-and-gown commencement ceremony at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 30 at Central Church of Christ, located at 1401 S. Monroe in Amarillo.

Anyone who graduated from the program over the past year is encouraged to attend and take part in the ceremony.

AC President Russell Lowery-Hart will congratulate graduates and distribute the certificates. Vice President of Academic Affairs Tamara Clunis will serve as the keynote speaker.

Graduates’ families and friends are welcome to attend both the ceremony and the post-graduation reception to follow.
