The Collegiate Advertising Awards (CAA) is a special program recognizing higher education organizations for excellence in communications, marketing, advertising and promotions of their schools.
Additionally, AC received a pair of gold awards and one silver award.
The 2017 CAA program had more than 900 entries from across the United States representing diverse educational facilities, from small community colleges to very large schools and universities.
AC captured a prestigious judge’s award – in recognition of a perfect 100-percent score among judges – for its overall advertising campaign, Success Is Amarillo College.
Success Is, which AC introduced in April of 2017, is used in the promotion of all programs, initiatives and facets of the College, i.e., Success Is Summer at Amarillo College; Success Is the Honors Program at Amarillo College; or, simply, Success Is Amarillo College.
“This recognition is extremely gratifying,” Kevin Ball, vice president of communication and marketing, said. “We certainly had high hopes when we rolled out Success Is last spring because no matter how you define success, we know that students can achieve theirs at Amarillo College."
“This judge’s award, and each of the others we received, are indicative, I think, of the commitment of our creative team to communicating the College mission,” he said. “It also reflects the judges’ recognition of the aspirational emotion of our message – that Success Is Amarillo College.”
Judging criteria included creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality, and overall appeal.
AC received CAA gold awards in the Direct Mail category for the “Success Is Viewbook & Envelope” and in Email Marketing, its “Travel to Paris” campaign.
AC also captured a CAA silver award for the Billboard Design – Series, “Tell Us What Success Means,” in which social-media responses to the topic were displayed on digital billboards around town.
