The event is sponsored by AC’s Career and Employment Services and will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second floor of the College Union Building. It is free and open not only to AC students and alumni, but to job-seekers within the community, as well.
Attendees are not required to preregister for the event; however, they can do so here and get a head start viewing and applying for jobs and internships posted exclusively to the College. The link also affords an opportunity to check out the list of employers already committed to attending the Job & Career Fair.
Mitch Parker, director of Career and Employment Services, advises anyone planning to attend the event to dress professionally and arrive with plenty of résumés handy for sharing among employers. He also points out that Career and Employment Services will host a series of workshops for AC students in the week preceding the Fair to help prepare them for success at the event.
“Rocking the Job Fair” workshops are scheduled at 11:45 a.m. Oct. 24 - 27 and at 10 a.m. on Oct. 28.
“We want to prepare our students to present themselves as successfully as possible to potential employers,” Parker said. “Job fairs are an excellent opportunity to meet multiple employers in one convenient location, but there are dos and don’ts that can make a huge difference.
“I would urge anyone, not only the job-seekers of today, but even those with future career aspirations to attend this event because they will learn about companies and opportunities in their field of interest,” Parker said. “They can not only prepare for future careers and meet employers, but also confirm application deadlines and interview dates.”
