In March, Amarillo College joined a select group of Texas community colleges in a partnership with Apple, Inc., for the delivery of Apple’s Swift app-development curriculum.

AC’s Board of Regents unanimously approved the partnership with Apple, along with the requisite purchase of $55,000 worth of Apple products – MacBook Pros, iPads and iPad Touches.

As a result, AC now offers a new Level I Marketable Skills Certificate in iOS app development, which can be stacked into an 18-hour certificate in Coding and Design, which in turn will stack into an associate’s degree in Coding and Design.

Additionally, AC’s partnership with Apple, Inc., extends from providing important educational pathways for College students to training teachers across the region. They, in turn, can provide their students with coding knowledge that, ultimately, will add value and diversification to the regional economy.
