Prerequisites: Reading Techniques II - minimum grade of C or a score on a state-approved test indicating college-level reading skills. In order to maintain compliance with the Texas Administrative Code, Title 25, Part 1, Chapter 91, Subchapter B, Rule 97.64 and Texas Department of State Health Services rule, all immunization requirements must be met prior to any patient contact in the clinical setting. These immunizations include: Tetanus-Diphtheria Toxoid (Td), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B (complete series), Varicella (chickenpox), and an annual Tuberculin skin test. Preparation for certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Class will meet one 8-hour Saturday in addition to the Monday-Wednesday or Tuesday-Thursday meeting times.
