National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The mission of the NHTSA Office of EMS is to reduce death and disability by providing leadership and coordination to the EMS community in assessing, planning, developing, and promoting comprehensive, evidence-based emergency medical services and 9-1-1 systems.

This innovative Web site, hosted by NHTSA EMS, was developed to meet the varied needs of the EMS community and contains background and updates on Federal EMS initiatives and programs.

The National Association of Emergency Medical Technician (NAEMT) is the only national membership association for EMS practitioners, including Paramedics, EMT, First Responders, and other professionals working in prehospital emergency medicine. Nearly 25,000 NAEMT members work in all sectors of EMS, including government third service agencies, fire departments, hospital-based ambulance services, private companies, industrial and special operations settings and in the military.

 

The Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) is a programmatic postsecondary accrediting agency recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA); it carries out its accrediting activities with EMS programs in cooperation with the CoAEMSP.
