Jerry McDonough spent two years studying at AC, then completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at West Texas State University before beginning a 30-year career as theatre instructor at Caprock High School. He served as head of the Fine Arts Department at CHS, but he also received many accolades as a playwright, especially for “Jovie,” which was named the Most Produced Short Play of 1998 byDramatics magazine. Jerry also wrote for and edited magazines. Among his many honors membership in the Amarillo High School Sandie Hall of Fame and the West Texas A&M University Branding Iron Theatre Hall of Fame.
