Betty Teel Bivins was a civic leader who spearheaded the efforts of many Amarillo charitable organizations. She graduated from AC in 1939 and received a B.S. degree in business administration at the University of Oklahoma. She went on to serve as president of Exell Cattle Company and director of First National Bank. Betty’s leadership was felt at the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center, Panhandle-Plains Historical Society, Amarillo Museum of Art, Amarillo Area Foundation, Harrington House and Amarillo Symphony Orchestra. She also served as a director of the National Gallery of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C.
