The Center for the Study of the American West, in a joint effort between West Texas A&M University and Amarillo College, will present screenings of John Fords The Searchers on Aug. 22 and John Hustons The Unforgiven on Aug. 23, both at 7 p.m. in Amarillo Colleges Concert Hall Theater.
The two films are set in West Texas and produced during the early days of the Civil Rights movement and deal with race conflicts and the difficulties and hardships of the West.
The screenings are open to the public at no charge. Each evening will begin with an introduction and end with a panel discussion.
