---|---|---|---|---|
Spring 2016 | 1 | 540 | 370 | 68.52 |

Fall-to-Fall retention is a primary metric in regards to Amarillo College’s commitment to increasing the number of students who complete a certificate, degree, and/or transfer to a 4-year institution while focusing on decreasing the time it takes to complete a degree. The most accurate way to measure time to completion is to base it on First-Time-In-College (FTIC) cohorts so we track retention based on the same cohorts.
Term | FTIC | Retained | % Retained |
---|---|---|---|
Fall 2013 | 1607 | 834 | 51.90 |
Fall 2014 | 1529 | 839 | 54.87 |
Fall 2015 | 1393 | 760 | 54.56 |
Fall 2016 | 1401 | 770 | 54.96 |
Amarillo College’s Vision to ensure a 70% completion rate by 2020 is partly based on Fall FTIC students receiving a certificate and/or degree within three years.
Term | FTIC | Graduated | % Graduated |
---|---|---|---|
Fall 2012 | 1661 | 220 | 13.25 |
Fall 2013 | 1607 | 239 | 14.87 |
Fall 2014 | 1529 | 298 | 19.49 |
Another measure of completion is the rate at which Fall FTIC students transfer to 4-year institutions within three years.
Term | FTIC | Transferred | % Transferred |
---|---|---|---|
Fall 2012 | 1661 | 280 | 16.86 |
Fall 2013 | 1607 | 287 | 17.86 |
Fall 2014 | 1529 | 277 | 18.12 |
Amarillo College is currently developing a more robust method for determining job placement rates for our students who graduate with a certificate and/or an AAS degree. For now, we rely upon THECB Gainful Employment data. We understand that this does not provide us with a direct relation between graduates and their employment in a field related to the certificate and/or associates degree that they recieved.
Year | Graduated | Employed Only | Employed and Enrolled | Total Employed | % Employed |
