We are excited that you have chosen to join the Amarillo College community and look forward to supporting you in the pursuit of your goals.
AC puts a great many resources at your disposal, one of which is the ideal place to start – New Student Orientation (NSO). We strongly encourage you to attend a session of NSO. It’s a fun and highly informative opportunity to get vital information about classes, tutoring, policies, academic and social opportunities, and abundant supporting resources designed with your personal success in mind.
The very best way to begin your journey at AC is to participate in one of three convenient orientations we offer:
Badger Beginnings is a day-long summer orientation designed for recent high school graduates. Badger Beginnings includes ice-breakers, campus tour, faculty panel, and special sessions on student success and advising. Participants will receive their first college t-shirt. Lunch is provided, as well as drinks and snacks throughout the day.
Parents of recent high school graduates, you are invited to join your student on campus and attend separate orientation sessions especially designed for parents and families. You will have the opportunity to meet faculty members and college administrators who will guide you through programs covering topics from academics to student life.
General Sessions are sessions held prior to the start of each term. General Sessions include important information on key resources and strategies for success, plus a campus tour. New students are encouraged to attend an orientation that best matches the campus they will be attending their first year.
Online Orientation is for students who are enrolling in online only courses.
To receive credit for completing Online Orientation, you will need to sign in using your AC ID number and answer all 18 questions.
Available during Fall and Spring semesters only.
