Pre-Occupational Therapy

The pathway to a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy starts at Amarillo College. The Pre-Occupational Therapy curriculum provides basic courses for the first two years of a four year curriculum leading to a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy. Students participate in both classroom instruction and clinical experiences. AC then supports its students throughout the transfer process.

What can you do with a Pre-Occupational Therapy degree?

Occupational therapy is the use of everyday activities as the means of helping people achieve independence. As an occupational therapist, you will supervise therapy assistants and help people of all ages who have difficulty performing work and daily living activities due to illness, injury or disability. You will help clients perform exercises as specified in a treatment plan and teach them how to use equipment that may make certain activities easier.
