Masks or Cloth Face Coverings Optional on Amarillo College Campuses and Instructional Sites .

Mask Policy

Amarillo College strives to provide a safe learning and working environment for all students, faculty, staff and visitors. The College complies with all applicable federal, state and local regulations. The college leadership stays abreast of the guidelines of THECB and CDC regarding COVID-19, its variants, vaccinations and other information relevant to the safety of those in the college community.
In response to local COVID infection and hospitalization rates and the abundant availability of the COVID-19 vaccination to residents of the Texas panhandle, masks and face coverings are optional on Amarillo College campuses and instructional sites.
Students, staff, faculty and visitors are encouraged to continue practicing infection-prevention actions which include social distancing, hand washing, staying home when sick, and wearing a face covering when in close proximity to others.
The college President has the authority to revise this policy, including the reinstatement of mandatory masks and face coverings, as the pandemic conditions and data warrant and without the necessity of board action.
