Each full-time faculty member (except those on temporary appointment) is required to participate in commencement and to be prompt in arriving for the ceremony. If a faculty member cannot be present for commencement, he or she must explain to the Vice President of Academic Affairs or his or her designee the necessity for his or her absence and request permission to be excused, as set forth in the Faculty Handbook.
