About Us

Sigma Kappa Delta is the National English honor society for students in two-year colleges.

Our Charter is to:

• Recognize and reward outstanding achievement in English language and literature.
• Provide cultural stimulation and promote interest in English on two-year college campuses and in the communities they serve.
• Foster English in all its aspects, including creative and critical writing.
• Promote good professional interaction among members.
• Exhibit high standards of academic achievement.

What are the requirements to join Sigma Kappa Delta:

• You must be enrolled in a two-year college.
• Have completed at least one college course in English language or literature  (excluding developmental courses).
• Have a GPA of 3.0.
• Have completed at least 12 hours of college course work.

We are not just for English majors.  We welcome anyone interested in reading, ideas, and good discussion.
