Louise Daniel earned attended Amarillo College form 1949-1951, earning an associate degree that launched a superlative career in education and led, ultimately, to chairmanship of the Amarillo College Board of Regents. A graduate of both Amarillo High School and West Texas State College, Louise taught science for more than 35 years at Avondale and Olsen Park elementary schools. She served as president of the Amarillo Classroom Teachers Association, and for 10 years she chaired the City of Amarillo Community Development Advisory Board. She was instrumental in creation of the Tyler Street Resource Center, which assists low-income and homeless individuals.
