Click here for the Stem scholars application

In order to apply, students will need to provide their personal information, a PDF of the most recent high school transcript to upload, and respond to two short answer questions. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

  • The application cycle opens October 1st  of each year
  • The Priority Deadline is April 1st
    • Applications will not be considered after May 1st

After a student applies, they must complete the following in order to be selected as a STEM Scholar:

  • Follow-up interview
  • Sign a letter of intent
  • Attend STEM Scholars orientation in June

Students who fill out an application will be evaluated to ensure they meet all requirements and then will be contacted for an interview (in-person or virtually). Only 30 students will be accepted into the program cohort.

If a student does not meet the Math TSI complete requirement, they will be notified of this. Once the student is Math TSI complete, they will be reconsidered and able to move to the interview stage. Students who are not TSI complete or exempt are still HIGHLY encouraged to apply. Amarillo College has free TSI tutoring available through the Testing Services office. Students may also qualify for a test voucher to reduce the cost of testing if they need to test multiple times. Testing multiple times is encouraged if needed, but must be Math TSI complete by May 1st.
