Jewelry Making I Metalsmithing$120

Students will be guided through the process of creating rings, necklaces, pendants, bracelets and earrings using copper, brass and silver. Participants will be introduced to sawing, stamping, texturing, rivet-making, forming, filing, surface treatment and polishing. Metal soldering is not covered. No previous experience needed. Portrait Painting from photo (no life model). Student's choice of oil or acrylic. Instruction covers production of the portrait, building the portrait's composition in a constructive way. Beginners learn the basics; experienced painters can challenge their comfort zones during this studio time. Everyone is given the opportunity to explore the dynamic world of watercolor. In this low stress environment, you are encouraged to develop your own style at your own pace as we try different techniques and materials.
