Preparation for certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) A health-related work based learning experience that enables the student to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical professional. Prerequisites: Reading Techniques II- Minimum grade of C or a score on state-approved test indicating college-level reading skills. In Order to maintain compliance with the Texas Administrative Code, Title 25, Part 1, Chapter 91, Subchapter B, Rule 97.64 and Texas Department of State Health Services rule, all immunizations requirements must be met prior to any patient contact in the clinical setting. These immunizations include: Tetanus-Diphtheria Toxoid (Td), Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B (complete series), Varicella (Chicken Pox), and an annual Tuberculin skin test.
