Percussion Ninja (gr 7-9)$105

Learn and practice traditional snare drum exercises, hand to hand timing, hand strengthening, technique, and other fundamentals. The skills taught in this camp will help young percussionists make the transition from middle school band to high school drumline. Instruments: Please bring a drum pad, sticks, and snare drum stand to camp. If you don't own one ask your local band director to borrow one for the week. Mariachi Camp (gr 7-12)$125

Explore and expand your musical abilities in a fun, supportive, and creative environment with Mariachi! Open to violin, viola, cello, guitar, vihuela, and guitarron students (ages 13-18) of all skill levels who are interested in learning more about mariachi style. Successful completion of the course could apply to academic College Fundamentals of Music credit. Expand your knowledge of fundamental aural and written music theory content, including intervals, chords, scales, keys, basic harmony, simple & compound meter, melodic & rhythmic dictation, and more. Beg. Acoustic Guitar Gr7-12$75

Hs Choir Camp (gr 9-12)$118

Features both large- and small- school tracks. Students work on the Texas all-state literature and receive training in vocal practice techniques, diction, sight-singing, and music theory. Students must complete a form at www.actx.edu/music/choircamp in addition to registering for this class. All registrants should purchase their own large- or small-school packet from Tarpley Music in advance of camp.
