Mental Health Technician
About
The Mental Health Technician (MHT) certification program is designed to prepare students to enter the field of mental health services at the entry-level (minimal education, training and experience).
Students will learn the skills to effectively promote empathy, support and healing through gaining knowledge of mental health diagnosis and care of the whole person. This program is a stepping-stone to other careers in the behavioral health field.

Classes
Classes meet Tuesday & Thursday from 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.
Classes are located on the West Campus of Amarillo College.
Prerequisites
Registration
- Before registering for the course you must complete a criminal background check ($48) and drug screen ($32) with Complio. The average return time on these submissions is 5-10 business days.
- Registration will be in person at Amarillo College West Campus. Please bring your immunization records and high school diploma or GED certificate with you.
- Tuition to be paid upon completed registration.
