Limited Openings for New Students

The Amarillo College Suzuki Program is pleased to announce limited openings for new students in the following instruments for Fall 2014:

  • guitar
  • flute
  • violin
  • viola
  • cello

All parents new to the Amarillo College Suzuki Program must complete a parent class requirement previous to or during the semester that their child begins lessons(see below).  PARENT REGISTRATION MUST BE COMPLETED BY FRIDAY, JULY 31 FOR NEW STUDENTS WISHING TO ENROLL IN THE AC SUZUKI PROGRAM FOR FALL 2015.

Once parent class registration is received, the student will receive priority placement with a teacher of the requested instrument.  See the Prospective Students tab at the top of this page or email tljackson26@actx.edu or cdnies@actx.edu for more information.


One Day EVERY CHILD CAN! Seminar Option

Every Child Can! will be offered at Amarillo College in August, Date TBA.

The introductory course for teachers interested in Suzuki training, this seminar also benefits parents who are new to the method and fulfills the New Parent Class requirement for families new to the Amarillo College Suzuki Program.

Full Semester Credit Option

For violin, viola, cello, and guitar parents new to the Amarillo College Suzuki Program, or those wishing to brush up on their Book 1 pieces and/or general playing skills, this is a one hour, for credit course that must be taken through the Amarillo College academic schedule.  The course covers the Suzuki philosophy, practices in assisting your child, and the basics of playing  the violin, viola or cello.  Parents enroll as students at Amarillo College to register for this class.   The new parent class meets at a weekly time throughout the semester.  Click here for registration information.

 Welcome to Suzuki at Amarillo College! Our supportive learning environment is the perfect place for parents and children to develop a creative,cooperative learning partnership. 

Since 1977, the AC Suzuki Program has offered highly qualified and trained Suzuki instructors to support and train growing talent in all students. Weekly private and group instruction, monthly Play-ins, solo recitals and the annual group recital are all components of this complete Suzuki experience.
