Copyright in Higher Education

In this electronic age, copyright issues abound. College Librarian, Mark Hanna, has created a page to answer virtually any question about copyright in higher education.

The article links to a comprehensive subject guide to copyright information maintained at Rutgers University. Topics include legal materials; fair use principle; tips, guides and FAQs; key Internet sites; indexes; organizations; author / publisher agreements; and licensing.

Go to the Library Quick Links page or to the Get Help: Guides & Handouts page to view the copyright article.

New Exhibit in Library Art Gallery: "Dia de los Muertos" (Oct 23-Nov 20, 2008)

Library Art Gallery: Day of the Dead Exhibit

Come enjoy the new exhibit in the Library Art Gallery: "Día de los Muertos" ("Day of the Dead"). Wander through the creations of 32 students of AC art faculty, Steven Cost, Dennis Olson, and James Bahn.

The "Day of the Dead" (November 1-2) is a holiday observed mostly in Mexico and by others of Mexican descent. It combines elements of ancient Indian ceremonies with traditional Catholic beliefs to honor and celebrate the lives of loved ones who have died.

The talented students contributing are:  James Albertson, Brittany Barrach, Jenna Bedell, Andrea Brown, Courtney Brown, Shaela Calhoun, Dulce Correa, Colby Currie, Idaly Fierro, *Daryn Finney, Michael Flores, Denise Garcia, Jessica Giraitas, Chad Harris, Tanner Holeman, Logan Jones, Kellie Kelley, *Mark Lester, Allyson Lucero, Enrique Marquez, Joey Martinez, Omar Martinez, J. Lee, Netherton, Ilse Perez, Devin Privitt, Dana Ralston, Kevin Ryan, Scott Stovall, Camica Story, Suzanne Strother, Aaron Taylor III, Rita Thomas, Kathryn “Sissy” Van‑Gelder Taylor, and Chris Wolf.

*We apologize to Daryn Finney and Mark Lester. Their names were inadvertently left off the original list of contributing students.

Contact Julie Ann Beddow (371-5386) for information about the Library Art Gallery.
