A medication aide distributes patient medications in nursing homes, schools, correctional facilities or non-hospital assisted-living facilities.
A current Texas C.N.A. license is required in order to register for this program.
Convenient evening classes are offered in the fall and spring.
A prospective Medication Aide student will be required to complete and pay for a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) fingerprint criminal background check to determine eligibility to take the Medication Aide examination.
The required Criminal Background Check for Medication Aide is processed through IdentoGo. Applicants will receive an email containing the direct link to schedule an appointment with IdentoGo after our registration process, which includes the TULIP application.
Applicants must bring a receipt from IdentoGo for fingerprint verification.
HS Diploma or GED Certificate & 18 years old
Working as a C.N.A. in a long-term care or assisted living facility for at least 90 days
Must be able to read, write, and speak English
