Two-week CDL Class A Refresher

This advanced class will reintroduce students who have a CDL to everyday truck driving conditions.

1. Advanced Driving Skills I - Operation of a tractor-trailer combination in city and highway conditions, including control and maneuvering of the vehicle through various traffic situations with numerous tractor-trailer combinations.
2. Advanced Driving Skills II - Continuation of tractor-trailer operation in city and highway conditions. Emphasis on practical applications of space management techniques, improved methods for control in difficult traffic situations, and effective operation in various conditions.

Two-week CDL Class A Restriction Removal

Course Delivery - In-Person 
2 Weeks (84 Hours)

This class is designed to introduce a student to manual transmission, air-brakes, and combination tractor/trailer.

1. Fundamental Driving Skills - Operation of a tractor-trailer combination. Emphasis on the safe maneuvering and control of the tractor-trailer in numerous traffic situations and sharing the highway with other vehicles. Coverage of in-cab air brake test, proper shifting, right and left-hand turns, movement in traffic, parking of a tractor trailer, highway and city driving, and backward movement and control.
2. Semi-Tractor-Trailer Operator Driving Skills - Operation of a tractor-trailer combination in city and highway conditions, including control and maneuvering of the vehicle through various traffic situations with numerous tractor-trailer combinations.
3. Advanced Driving Skills I - Operation of a tractor-trailer combination in city and highway conditions, including control and maneuvering of the vehicle through various traffic situations with numerous tractor-trailer combinations.
4. Advanced Driving Skills II - Continuation of tractor-trailer operation in city and highway conditions. Emphasis on practical applications of space management techniques, improved methods for control in difficult traffic situations, and effective operation in various conditions.

Three-week Class B CDL

Course Delivery - In-Person 
3 Weeks (108 Hours)

Operation of a single unit where the gross weight must be over 26,001 or more pounds. Introduction of state law. It includes practical space management techniques, controlling and maneuvering the vehicle through various traffic situations in different conditions with numerous vehicle combinations.

1. Commercial Driver's License Written Skills - Overview of the State of Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License written test. In-depth coverage of general knowledge, air brakes, combination vehicles, doubles and triples, tankers, and hazardous materials. Includes preparation for mastery of the Commercial Driver's License written examination.
2. Commercial Driver's License Driving Skills - Overview of the State of Texas Class A Commercial Drivers' License driving test. In-depth coverage of in-cab air brake test, proper shifting, right and left-hand turns, movement in traffic, parking of a tractor trailer, highway and city driving, and backward movement and control.
3. Commercial Driver's License Overview - Overview of the State of Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License written test and preparation for mastery of the Commercial Driver's License written examination. Theory instruction for Entry Level Driver Training (49 CFR 380).
4. Fundamental Driving Skills - Operation of a tractor-trailer combination. Emphasis on the safe maneuvering and control of the tractor-trailer in numerous traffic situations and sharing the highway with other vehicles.
5. Advanced Driving Skills I - Operation of a tractor-trailer combination in city and highway conditions, including control and maneuvering of the vehicle through various traffic situations with numerous tractor-trailer combinations.
6. Advanced Driving Skills II - Continuation of tractor-trailer operation in city and highway conditions. Emphasis on practical applications of space management techniques, improved methods for control in difficult traffic situations, and effective operation in various conditions.

Five-week Class B to Class A Upgrade

Course Delivery - In-Person 
5 Weeks (192 Hours)

This class will teach basic operation, safe operating procedures, advanced operating practices, vehicle system and reporting malfunctions, non-driving activities, and behind the wheel.

1. Commercial Driver's License Written Skills - Overview of the State of Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License written test. In-depth coverage of general knowledge, air brakes, combination vehicles, doubles and triples, tankers, and hazardous materials. Includes preparation for mastery of the Commercial Driver's License written examination.
2. Commercial Driver's License Driving Skills - Overview of the State of Texas Class A Commercial Drivers' License driving test. One Day Hazmat Class

Course Delivery - Online/Hybrid
1 Day (8 Hours)

This class provides the safety and compliance information you need to obtain your hazmat enforcement. The course is offered online. Students will arrive in-person for orientation on the 2nd Friday of the month. Students have one week to complete online coursework.
