Joe Bill Sherrod serves as the Vice-President of Institutional Advancement and Executive Director of the Amarillo College Foundation, bringing over twelve years of higher education development and administrative experience. He began his career at West Texas A&M University (WT), where he served in roles including Major Gifts Officer for the Sybil B. Harrington College of Fine Arts and Humanities, Director of Development, Interim Vice-President of Institutional Advancement, and Assistant Vice-President of Institutional Advancement. During his tenure, he helped lead the Share the Pride Campaign past its $35 million goal, closing at $51 million, and established an annual giving program that averaged $1.2 million per year over a decade. He also raised and administered $12 million for WT’s Agriculture and Natural Sciences facility. At Amarillo College, Joe Bill led the Badger Bold Comprehensive Campaign, which concluded in August 2025 and raised $47.2 million—surpassing goal and marking the College’s first comprehensive campaign.

Tracy Dougherty serves as the Chief Operating Officer for the Amarillo College Foundation, overseeing the daily business and administrative operations and budgeting. She is responsible for all scholarship, gift and planned gift agreements. Tracy also oversees the Amarillo College scholarship program, managing over 650 funds. She works closely with the AC Foundation board to further advance the mission of the AC Foundation and develop strategy. She holds a BA in American Studies and an MBA in Marketing from The University of Texas at Austin, and brings more than 32 years of nonprofit leadership experience to her role. Prior to joining the AC Foundation over 21 years ago, Tracy served as Director of Development and Marketing for the Don & Sybil Harrington Cancer Center for 10 years and as Co-Executive Director of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation of Amarillo for one. Tracy remains focused on scholarship access, community engagement, donor relations and telling the story of Amarillo College.

Linda Dominguez serves as the Corporate Relations Manager for the Amarillo College Foundation and has been with Amarillo College since 2013. Drawing on her background in nonprofit work and event planning, Linda focuses on forging meaningful connections with corporate partners and linking those partners to opportunities that support students and academic programs across the AC community. Her approach is holistic—working to remove barriers to education while aligning student needs, departmental priorities, and industry interests to advance the Foundation’s mission. Linda lives with her husband, Paul, and loves traveling, skiing, and hiking—often spending time with family in Angel Fire, Colorado.

Administrative Assistant for Scholarship Coordination

Kay Campbell serves as the Administrative Assistant for Scholarship Coordination assisting with the distribution of all Foundation scholarship awards along with the the Sybil B. Harrington scholarships. Now in her 14th year with the Foundation, she works closely with faculty, staff, and especially students to ensure that as many students as possible receive scholarships smoothly and effectively. Kay holds a Bachelor of Science degree from West Texas A&M University, with an emphasis in Business Administration and Accounting, and remains committed to supporting student success.

Mark Clark serves as the Advancement Services Coordinator for the Amarillo College Foundation, where he ensures the accuracy and organization of the donor database to support mailings, donor engagement, and strategic initiatives. He manages data integration and reporting processes, including uploads and downloads for the Blackbaud Donor Platform and The AC Foundation Scholarship program, , playing a key role in streamlining Foundation operations. Mark holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and brings a systems-based approach to his work. Outside of Amarillo College, he is also a church music director, viewing music as another form of data to be prepared with care and shared with the community. Mark lives in Amarillo with his wife, Yanli, and their two sons, Jakob and William.

Courtney Erwin serves as Executive Assistant to the Vice-President of Institutional Advancement and supports the work of the Amarillo College Foundation office. She keeps daily operations organized, manages information flow, and handles gift deposits each morning with accuracy and care, ensuring that donor records are entered correctly and maintained with attention to detail. Courtney also supports scheduling, coordination, and communication across the Foundation. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband, Matt, as well as her children and grandchildren.

Scholarship Manager & Athletic Relations Specialist

Karah serves as the Scholarship Manager and Athletic Relations Specialist for the Amarillo College Foundation, awarding scholarships to qualified students and building community support for AC Athletics. A former state champion Canyon Lady Eagle basketball player, she went on to play for the Wayland Baptist Flying Queens on a full athletic scholarship. Karah is deeply active in the Amarillo community, having volunteered with Northside Toy Drive, Amarillo NAACP, Keep Amarillo Clean, and Square Mile Community. She has served on the board of Big Brother Big Sisters, was appointed by the Amarillo Mayor to the Task Force for Greatness Committee, and is a Leadership Amarillo/Canyon graduate. Karah lives in Amarillo with her two sons, Jayven and Keylan, and their rescue dog, Lucky.

Dominic Narvaez serves as the Office Clerk for the Amarillo College Foundation, assisting across projects that keep the office running smoothly. He supports database entry and error checking, and—most importantly—files and organizes scholarship records with accuracy and care. Dominic graduated from Amarillo College in 2024 with an Associate’s degree in Engineering and is currently an engineering major at West Texas A&M University. He brings a detail-oriented mindset to every task and enjoys learning how data and systems support student success.

Katie Niegos serves as the Donor Events and Stewardship Coordinator for the Amarillo College Foundation, supporting fundraising efforts and stewardship through donor relations, and development strategy. She also plans and executes all of the special events that the Foundation and Advancement Department hold. Katie studied government and sociology at the University of Texas before earning her J.D. from SMU’s Dedman School of Law, and began her career practicing family law in Dallas. Katie later transitioned to nonprofit consulting and began working with the AC Foundation in 2020, focusing on grant writing, donor cultivation, and identifying community needs that align with the Foundation’s mission. Outside of work, she is a lifelong tennis fan and community volunteer.

Katie Niegos serves as the Stewardship Coordinator for the Amarillo College Foundation, supporting fundraising efforts through donor relations, planned giving, and development strategy. She studied government and sociology at the University of Texas before earning her J.D. from SMU’s Dedman School of Law, and began her career practicing family law in Dallas. Katie later transitioned to nonprofit consulting and began working with the AC Foundation in 2020, focusing on grant writing, donor cultivation, and identifying community needs that align with the Foundation’s mission. Outside of work, she is a lifelong tennis fan and has attended three of the four Grand Slam tournaments—Wimbledon, the French Open, and the US Open—and toured the Australian Open facilities.
