Steps to becoming an AHA Instructor through the Amarillo College Training Center
You must bring your Certificate of Completion to the Instructor class
You may attend the BLS Instructor class IF you
1. Have never been an instructor and are attempting to become one for the first time.
2. Have been an instructor in the past.
3. Were aligned with another training center and wish to transfer but have no documentation.
You must bring these items to class
1. All American Heart cards that you have whether current or expired / provider or instructor.
2. Your current / latest edition BLS Instructor Manual*.
3. Your Certificate of Completion for Instructor Essentials First Aid or BLS discipline that you are applying to teach. If you have not completed the BLS Essentials Course, you may enroll through this link - https://shopcpr.heart.org/bls-instructor-essentials-online
*Please note that AHA now requires all instructors attending an instructor course to have a current instructor manual available during the course – those who come to class without a manual will not be allowed to stay in the class – AC policy does not allow refunds the day of the class for one day courses.
1. You must bring all the required equipment and supplies to the course.
2. You must pay for and register prior to the day of the course.
3. Be prepared to take a test and demonstrate your skills.
You will need to register at the Registrar’s Office at any Amarillo College Campus or online through www.actx.edu/ce. Registration is required.
