BLS Instructor

American Heart Association Instructor Candidate class. This class will prepare an instructor candidate to present lectures, facilitate skill stations and conduct student evaluations. Instructor candidates will learn AHA guidelines and regulations on all BLS classes and all AHA paperwork. CPR for Healthcare Providers

American Heart Association 2025 guidelines are designed for healthcare providers caring for patients both in pre-hospital and in-facility environments. The course covers high-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants, use of an AED and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants. This course does not meet the first aid requirements for child care personnel and foster parents. Required book at the Amarillo College Bookstore on the Washington Street Campus.

First Aid

First Aid is designed to teach the layperson the basics of CPR and First Aid for use in work settings and for camp counselors, child care workers and non-healthcare professionals. The class focuses on one-person CPR for all ages and basic first aid, including burns, lacerations, sprains and allergic reactions.
