Administrative Drop Policy

Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016

Student Withdrawal Procedures

Students who wish to withdraw from a class must:

  • consult with their instructor to obtain a signed academic withdrawal request form to submit to the AskAC department for processing
  • consult with the financial aid office if receiving financial aid
  • consult with the Veterans Benefit Coordinator if receiving veteran benefits
  • consult with their academic advisor to determine how withdrawing may affect their enrollment in future semesters
    • NOTE:  The Texas Education Code stipulates that students attending Texas institutions of higher education for the first time fall 2007 and later may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career, including courses from which transfer students have withdrawn at other Texas institutions of higher education. (Senate Bill 1231) Rule 4.10.

Topics address recently identified current events, skills, knowledge, and/or attitudes and behaviors pertinent to the technology or occupation and relevant to the professional development of the student. This course was designed to be repeated multiple times to improve student proficiency.

1.    Complete all assignments on time.

2.    Participate in on-line activities.

3.    Read assigned articles.

4.    Complete final project.

Grading Criteria

On-line discussion forum postings: 25%

Article summary assignments:  25%

Final Project:  50%

A=90-100, B=80-89, C=70-79, D=60-69, F=59 or below

Attendance

You will be expected to attend class weekly (log-in to the course).  Assignments are your responsibility and are expected to be turned in on time.  Failure to do so will result in a lower grade.

Additional Information

All assignments are due on Sundays by 11.59 pm.  Discussion forums are designed to simulate an in-class discussion and cannot be completed after the due date.  Discussion forums not completed by due date will receive a score of zero.  Article summaries may be completed after the due date for reduced credit.  Final project due Sunday, May 7, by 11:59 pm.  No late projects will be accepted, for any reason.

This course is designed to help you learn about the importance of quality early childhood programs.  You will read information from articles and websites supporting the need for a quality early childhood programs.  We will explore various view-points on how quality programs impact children, teachers and families.  On-line participation and interaction is essential for your success in this course.
