IV therapy is used to administer medications to treat infection or relieve pain. IV therapy training courses are geared towards practicing nurses or new nursing graduates who wish to become certified in the specialty.
Theory and techniques of venipuncture, intravenous infusions, and blood drawing will be covered. Information regarding fluids, electrolytes, blood products, hyper-alimentation, venous system physiology, lipids, and local and systemic complication in IV Therapy.
Student must be an RN, GN, LVN, or GVN in order to take this course.
Class is only offered in January and June.
