Amarillo College Tutoring for Success Policy:

The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.

Administrative Drop Policy

Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016

Student Withdrawal Procedures

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.

NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. This withdrawal limitation does not include dual credit or developmental classes (Senate Bill 1231 Rule 4.10.) Student will be able to identify and repair various types of automotive plastics using approved product manufacturer's recommendations.

Expected Student Behavior

Any student thought to be disrupting class will be asked to leave class for the day.There is no cell phones to be used during class or lab. Safety Glasses and uniform  Shirts must be worn at all times,failure to do so will result in being asked to go home for the day.  Being Late constantly will not be tolerated, points will be deducted after 3 incidents. Three incidents after 730 Can be asked to leave for the day with a zero.

Grading Criteria

Grading will be divided into three catagories. Class 5%, Attendence will be 20%, Work in the lab will be 75%.

A=90-100

B=80-90

C=70-80

D=60-70

F=0-59

Attendance

Regular attendance is required for satisfactory achievement. It is the students responsibility to attend class. Attendance will be part of the final grade. It is your responsibility to make up missed work. Being late will not be tolerated, after 3 tardiness points will be deducted.Leaving class early without asking Instructor will result in a zero for the day. Grading will be done on Tests and Lab Activities, must participate in projects to earn a grade each day. Must wear a mask and safety glasses while at East Campus.

Additional Information

This schedule is a tentative outline only. May change depending on speed of of subject transfer. Attendance is require for lecture and hands on training. 

Students may work on their own vehicles, only if the student has shown satisfactory initiative on lab projects.

Any Vehicle to be worked on or painted must be completed 2 weeks prior to semester end. No Exceptions.
