Amarillo College Tutoring for Success Policy:

The Tutoring for Success policy applies to any student whose grade or performance in the course falls below a departmentally determined minimum threshold. In either of those cases, the instructor will direct the student to the appropriate tutoring service, which may be faculty-led, discipline-specific, and/or general. Under this policy, the instructor will follow specific departmental guidelines governing the use, duration, and grade component of the tutoring need.

Administrative Drop Policy

Students who do not attend class on or prior to the census date will be administratively dropped. Effective Fall, 2016

Student Withdrawal Procedures

Students who wish to withdraw from a course must complete all steps indicated on the Academic Withdrawal Request form by the course withdrawal deadline.

NOTE: Students who are attending Texas institutions of higher education, for the first time fall 2007 and later, may not withdraw from more than six courses during their academic career. This withdrawal limitation does not include dual credit or developmental classes (Senate Bill 1231 Rule 4.10.) Student Performance

End-of-Course Outcomes: The student will utilize tools and procedures for servicing Interior and Exterior trim including glass, with emphasis on Shop Safety Practices.

Expected Student Behavior

Any student thought to be disrupting class or continuously on their phone may or will be asked to leave class for the day.

Grading Criteria

Grading will be divided into three categories. Chapter tests/ Class will be 5%.  Attendance will be 20%.  Work in the lab will be 75%.

0-59 =F

60-70 =D

70-80 =C

80-90 =B

90-100 =A

Attendance

Daily attendance is required for satisfactory achievement. It is the students responsibility to attend class. Lab work will be a major part of the final grade. It is up to you to make up work when you miss class. Being late to class after 8:15 will result in loss of grade average, after 3 tardiness points will be deducted . Being late after 8:30 more than twice will result in being asked to go home for the day and a zero. Occasional late is ok, Leaving Class for the day without asking will result in a 0 for the day.  Grading will be done on Test or Lab activities ,if you dont partake on projects you will not get a grade fot the day.

Additional Information

No cell phones in class or lab. Safety Glasses and Uniform Shirts must be worn at all time, failure to do so  will result in being ask to go home for the day. No glasses, will be warned twice, after that will be asked to go home. Uniforms and Glasses are Mandatory

Students may work on their own vehicles, only if the student has shown satisfactory initiative on lab projects.

Any vehicle to be worked on or painted must be completed 2 weeks prior to semester end. No exceptions
